Study 10: The servant Queen
Proverbs 31:15; “She rises while it is yet night and gets spiritual food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks.”
Proverbs 31:24-25a AMP; “She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles (or sashes that free one for service). Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure….”
2 Timothy 2:24; “And the servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome (fighting and contending). Instead she must be kindly to everyone and mild-tempered (preserving the bond of peace): She must be a skilled and suitable teacher, patient and forbearing and willing to suffer wrong.”
Jesus shows the perfect example of a true servant, Philippians 2:5-10. He shows that being a servant is not weakness but strength. Our attitude is the most vital part of our Christian life as it determines our success or failure, and out of it, our actions will show our true heart.
Like the ‘Joyful Woman’ we should rise early and rejoice that Jesus is already awake and He is rejoicing over us, so we can give Him our day with complete trust.

As servants of the living God today, we are so blessed. We do not see greatness as ‘our position’ in the Church, or in our job, or in society. We know that our greatness (Mark 10:43-45) is in doing the ordinary menial tasks (John 13:12-17) that no one else sees. We do them with the same enthusiasm and zeal as we do the jobs that people do see, because we are doing all for the glory of God, 1 Corinthians 10:31. When we have the mind of Christ, we know God’s plan for us and we consider ourselves a servant to Him as our Master. Only then will we be totally identified with Him. We must be careful to Make sure we excel at serving in the Church, and make sure we continue this in our own homes. We somehow feel used when serving at home but accept it when it happens at Church or work!
Remember we serve to please Him and for His Glory ONLY.
Our life will be one of meeting the needs of others and lifting up Jesus.
That is true prosperity.
