Prayer for my daughter’s future partner

Lord, may he love the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength and Jesus as his personal Saviour. (Mark 12:29-30; Romans 10:9)

May he love his wife with a faithful, undying love for as long as they both shall live. (Matthew 19:5-6) May he recognise his body as the temple of the Holy Spirit and treat it wisely. (1 Corinthians 16:19-20) May he be healthy, able to work and support his family (1 Timothy 6:8)

May he have an admirable goal in life (Matthew 6:33) May he use his talents wisely and release his wife to use her God-given talents also. May their talents complement one another. May they also enjoy doing things together. (Matthew 25:14-30)

May he establish their home in accordance with God’s prescribed order as outlined in Ephesians 5:20-28. May he be strong in mind. May the two of them be compatible intellectually (2 Corinthians 13:11; 1 Timothy 1:7) May he be a good money manager. (1 Timothy 5:8; 6:10)

Lord, bring this partner into my daughter’s life in Your perfect timing. May she be so in love with him and he with her and both of them in love with You. Oh God, that there may be no doubt that You created them for each other as long as they both shall live. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer for my son’s future partner.

Lord, that they may be equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). May she love the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. May she embrace Jesus as her personal Saviour and Lord. (Mark 12:29-30; Romans 10:9)

May she love my son with an undying love as long as they both shall live and be a helper suitable for him. (Genesis 2:18) May she be rich in good deeds, generous and hospitable (1 Timothy 6:18; Hebrews 3:2)

May she encourage my son daily (Hebrews 3:13). May she use her God-given talents at home and in Your Kingdom’s work (Matthew 25:14-30). If housework ever seems to be a monstrous chore to her help her to realise that whatever she does in word or deed, she should do it with all her heart as working for You. (Colossians 3:17, 23)

When they have a family help her to be a good mother May her children arise and call her blessed. (Titus 2:4-5; Proverbs 31:28)

Show her how to prepare nutritious meals for her family. If she needs to learn something about homemaking, don’t let her be shy about asking more mature Christian women to help her (Titus 2:3-5)

Help me to be a good mother-in-law to this precious one in Jesus’ name.
